WHAT HAPPENS IN THE FIRST 10 MINUTES OF X MEN AND POTC 4 <><><><><><><>?

I came to the theater late for both these movies. When I arrived for x
men first class, Shaw was pointing a gun at Eric and counting to three
if he doesn't move the coin.

When I arrived for Pirates 4, Jack sparrow was being dragged into a
room where there was a fat english guy, and then he escapes.

Can you fill me in on what i missed? Thanks!
