BAC Films nabs 'Electrick Children' for France

Rebecca Thomas's "Electrick Children," which screened in the Berlin Film Festival's Generation 14plus section last week, has been snapped up by BAC Films for France. Pic, which toplines Julia Garner and Rory Culkin, is being shopped at the market by M-Appeal. The acquisition follows previous deals inked with Revolver/Picturehouse for U.K. rights and Rialto for Australia earlier in the market. Story, which is penned and helmed by Thomas, follows the tale of a young Mormon girl who believes in immaculate conception while her fundamental religious family considers her condition intolerable transgression. She soon has a life-changing experience after listening to rock music for the first time. Pic has also been selected to screen in SXSW. Contact Diana Lodderhose at diana.lodderhose@variety.com
